HELP FOR BROKEN BLOOD VESSELS ON YOUR FACE
Vitamin C when taken orally boosts your skin’s health as well as that of your body. But did you know about the added benefits of bioflavonoids? These little powerhouses prevent bruising and help protect your fragile blood vessels. How? As we age, our capillary walls become weak, and begin to permanently dilate. This dilation is clearly visible on the face, especially on the cheeks and around the nose. As a part of any anti-aging skin care program, bioflavonoids help increase the strength and integrity of the blood vessels and capillaries internally, so as to delay the process of breakage or dilatation of capillary walls.
Caring for your skin from inside out should be the priority in your home care routine. Especially, if you have a fair skin, you are naturally more prone to visible capillaries. To support an even skin tone, try taking vitamin C with bioflavonoids as a part of your daily routine. Or even better, eat foods rich in vitamin C such as citrus fruits, dark leafy greens, kiwi, broccoli, tomatoes and peas. Curb or even better quit the habits of smoking and alcohol. They rob the body of vitamin C and further contribute to weakened capilliaries.
Microdermabrasion is a popular salon treatment but it can pull and tug on fragile capillaries and so is not recommended. If you use a facial cleansing brush, be careful while using it. It can be beneficial to slough off dead skin cells but overuse can stimulate blood and dilate capillaries, and thus, cause weakening over time. To clear the redness, a topical vitamin C serum is a great option. But, make sure that you use a stable formula that doesn’t sting or irritate the skin.
Thus, a daily dose of Vitamin C, both internally and externally, help create less visible redness and dilated capillaries on the face. Instead of spending a lot of money on laser treatments for removal of redness, focus on prevention by making sure your diet includes foods rich in bioflavonoids.
